Enir

ELECTRO NANOFIBER INTERLAMINAR REINFORCEMENT.

WHAT IT IS

Enir is a patent from Italica which is a unique layering reinforcing veil that enhances the performance of a carbon composite. It targets the two key weaknesses of any product: low delamination strength and low impact resistance.

 

Enir is incredibly easy to apply, in fact it’s made with a very thin film laminated in between the composite materials; once that curing cycle begins, the Enir get to liquid stage and get fused with the matrix resign system from
pre-preg acting like an addictive of micro-spheres in between carbon and laminates.

ADVANTAGES

This ultimate technology allows an incredible weight saving and amazing strength of laminates.

The ENIR process, infact, increases interlaminar fracture toughness by up to 20%.

Impact resistance can also be increased by up to 20%.

ENIR offers an increased flexural strength of between 5 and 20% There is no decrease in flexural stiffness.

USE

This technology is very versatile and can be used in a wide variety of product like cycling items, automotive parts or any application where flexural strength is important. It has already been utilized by world famous sailing brand Gaastra, who recently signed a deal to exclusively use this technology in its industry. In fishing, the company believes it could offer significant benefits to match, feeder, lure and fly fishing rods and even telescopic rods and whips.
